What to Expect In Our Worship Services

Jesus said, “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth” (John 4:24).  In our worship, as in all we do, we seek to abide by God’s truth.  The worship of the New Testament church is beautiful in its simplicity.  Here is what to expect in our services:

Singing:

The Bible tells us to, “Speak to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord” (Eph. 5:19).  Psalm 150 says “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.  . .”

Communion:

For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes (1 Corinthians 11:26).  We take communion every Sunday.

Giving:

We are instructed in God’s word to give of our means every Sunday (I Corinthians 16:1-2).  As a visitor, please do not feel obligated to place anything in the collection other than your prayer card or welcome card.  (The offering plate is located by the Sanctuary doors.)

Preaching:

The word Gospel means “Good News.”  So, our goal in preaching is to proclaim the good news to you each week.  We intend for the sermons to be relevant and easy to understand (Luke 4:18).

Prayer:

Another important part of our worship is prayer.  We see in the Bible that the Lord’s church “continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayer” (Acts 2:42).
